Made Smarter Innovation - Smart Manufacturing Data Hub (SMDH) offers three different funding opportunities to support manufacturing small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) on their smart manufacturing journey.

These opportunities are based on the needs of the company.

Rapid Demonstrators

Rapid Demonstrators aim to support SMEs with sensor installation, data analysis or similar to enable levelling-up the opportunities for SMEs to exceed and expand. Grant funding of up to £50,000 per project is available.

The final call for Rapid Demonstrators funding is currently open for applications.

Lighthouse Projects

Lighthouses aim to develop already proven digital products and processes into readily accessible solutions that meet manufacturing SMEs' needs. Grant funding of up to £150,000 is available per project.

The final call for Lighthouse Projects funding is currently open for applications.

UPDATE: Given the volume of interest in this final call for Rapid Demonstrators and Lighthouse Projects, SMDH will close applications at the end of this month for review and assessment.

If you wish for your project to be considered, you must submit your completed application form, grant and co-investment schedules by 4pm on 30 August 2024.

Virtual Testbeds

Virtual Testbeds aim to provide financial support and opportunities to bring pre-existing testbeds to the SMDH community and enable SMEs to utilise them. Grant funding of up to £100,000 is available per project.

The Virtual Testbeds call is closed for applications.
