Domestic Abuse Safe Leave consultation

News article

Have your say on the introduction of a new right for victims of domestic abuse to access paid safe leave from work.

The Department for the Economy (DfE) has launched a consultation to inform the public about the department's intention to introduce regulations, under and in accordance with provisions of the Domestic Abuse (Safe Leave) Act (NI) 2022.

This will entitle employees and workers, who are victims of domestic abuse to up to 10 days of paid safe leave in each leave year for the purpose of dealing with issues related to that abuse.

Who is impacted?

Through this consultation, DfE would like to hear the views of all stakeholders including workers, employers, trade unions, and support organisations.

How to respond to the consultation

You can respond to this consultation using the online form, or by emailing or writing to DfE.

The deadline for responses is 5pm Friday 27 September 2024.
