Belfast City Council in partnership with Visit Belfast, Tourism NI, Titanic Belfast and Open Arts is organising an event for Belfast-based tourism businesses and organisations.

The Embrace the Inclusive Spirit 2025 seminar will help you realise the potential for growing the disabled tourism market for your business.

At the morning session, you will:

  • discover the importance and value of the disabled tourism market
  • learn how you can market inclusively and imaginatively to disabled visitors
  • understand how to communicate effectively with disabled visitors at all stages in their customer journey, including practical hints, tips and guidance for welcoming Deaf, blind and visually-impaired visitors
  • get an insight on how Belfast City Council are working with city stakeholders to make Belfast more inclusive and welcoming

Event details

The seminar host is Jamie Shields, Co-founding Director of Disabled By Society who is is Registered Blind, Autistic & ADHD and uses his lived experience to help break the barriers in society that disable.

Speakers include Carrie-Ann Lightley and Anthony Sinclair. Carrie-Ann is an accessibility travel-blogger and on the Shaw Trust Disability Power 100, a list of the top 100 most influential disabled people in the UK. Anthony is founder of Sign Source and has been profoundly Deaf since birth.
