Innovate UK is inviting innovative UK businesses to apply for its Global Business Innovation Programme (GBIP) in Taiwan.
This programme targets scaleups and high-growth companies driving innovation in advanced manufacturing and integrated supply chains. The goal is to enhance efficiency, adaptability, and circularity in manufacturing operations.
Focus areas
Innovate UK is particularly interested in projects that align with its 2050 vision for materials and manufacturing. These include:
- materials for future economy
- smart design
- resilient supply chains
- automated and flexible production
- circular economy practices such as reuse, repair, and recycling
Why Taiwan?
Taiwan is a key partner for the UK in advanced manufacturing, recognised for its leadership in manufacturing exports, research and development (R&D), and patents. In 2022, Innovate UK signed a 5-year Memorandum of Understanding with Taiwan's Department of Industrial Technology, focusing on joint R&D in smart manufacturing. This agreement has strengthened collaboration, supporting initiatives like GBIP and bilateral funding opportunities, driving innovation and international partnerships.
