Licences, certificates and special rules
From 1 January 2021, there are changes to the licences, certificates and special rules to bring different types of goods into the UK.
You may need to pay an inspection fee for some goods before they are allowed into the UK.
Animals, plants and agricultural products
- animal products and live animals
- live fish and shellfish
- plants, fruit, vegetables, cut flowers and related machinery
- ‘prohibited’ plants, plant pests, pathogens and soil
- products made from endangered plants or animals
- veterinary medicines
- high risk food

Medicine, tissues and cells for human application
Chemicals and waste
Guns, weapons and goods that could be used for torture or capital punishment
