Masterclass: Working as a recording musician
Event to offer essential insights for recording musicians
Musicians' Union (MU) is hosting a masterclass at the Nerve Centre in Derry~Londonderry for anyone interested in earning a living as a recording musician.
The masterclass will take place in-person, from 7pm to 9pm, on Thursday 25 April 2024.
Participants will get a chance to discuss the intricacies of working as a recording musician, covering:
- musician rights
- copyright essentials
- protecting rights across projects
- royalties and MU-administered licensing
- differences and synergies between MU, PPL and PRS licensing, and self-licensing
Awareness of these areas, especially often overlooked ones like MU royalties for session musicians, is key to ensuring you have all the tools and knowledge you need to prosper as a musician.
Following the masterclass, you will get a chance to join MU for a free drink and networking.
How to attend
This workshop is free to attend. It is open to both members and non-members of the Musicians' Union, but you must book tickets in advance.
