Financial support for the local food and drink sector

The 2025/26 Northern Ireland Regional Food Programme (NIRFP), run by the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA), is now open for applications.

The objectives of the programme are to:

  • assist the NI agri-food industry to develop and expand profitable and sustainable markets
  • assist the development of a sustainable and thriving rural economy
  • increase integration and efficiency within the NI agri-food supply chain

Who can apply

Not-for-profit groups, regional development agencies, and registered charities are eligible to apply. Collaborative projects involving two or more eligible organisations working together to achieve the programme's objectives are especially encouraged.

Successful applications to the NIRFP can obtain up to 40% financial contributions on eligible project expenditure for:

  • regional fairs and exhibitions
  • seminars and workshops
  • information programmes

How to apply

Applications are now open for projects taking place between 1 May 2025 and 31 March 2026.

The deadline for applications is 4pm, Wednesday 16 April 2025.
