Non-Domestic Energy Retail Market review - Call for Input

Views sought on current regulations to protect non-domestic consumers and if changes are needed.

The Utility Regulator has launched a Call for Input as part of the 'Review of the Regulation of the Non-Domestic Energy Retail Market'.

The aim is to identify and remedy gaps in the existing non-domestic regulatory framework to ensure fair engagement and outcomes in the retail energy market for business consumers.

Four key areas of regulatory focus have been identified in the Call for Input:

• operation of Third Party Intermediaries
• treatment of debt
• transparency and information
• contract terms

The Utility Regulator aims to gather responses from a wide range of stakeholders on the questions posed within this paper in order to help shape the future regulatory framework for non-domestic consumers.
