Regional Net Zero Programme launched in Mid South West

The Driving Net Zero Transformation Programme aims to accelerate long-term sustainable growth for businesses in the local councils of the Mid South West region

The Mid South West region is launching the Driving Net Zero Transformation Programme. It is in partnership with Carbonfit and funded by Innovate UK’s Fast Followers Programme.

The initiative aims to help local businesses in the council areas of Armagh City, Banbridge, and Craigavon; Fermanagh and Omagh; and Mid Ulster reach net zero emissions. The programme is part of £6 million in funding shared by 21 local authorities across the UK.

Who can apply?

This programme focuses on micro, small, and medium enterprises in the following sectors:

  • advanced manufacturing and engineering
  • agri food
  • construction

Why should you apply?

The Driving Net Zero Transformation programme aims to help businesses to improve resource efficiency and their operations. It also aims to foster innovation and cost-saving opportunities, supporting the region's shift towards sustainability and a greener future. 

Businesses can benefit by taking part in:

  • Webinar series of six one-hour sessions. These sessions can help businesses understand their current carbon baseline and develop practical skills for creating and monitoring a carbon reduction plan.
  • Three business breakfast events to foster collaboration and enable change through networking.
  • Personalised support for up to 90 businesses. This support will include bespoke net zero baseline assessments and action plans.
