WOMEX 24 delegate bursaries

Apply for a chance to network at WOMEX 2024

The Arts Council of Northern Ireland (Arts Council NI) is offering delegate bursaries for WOMEX World Music Expo, taking place in Manchester from 23 to 27 October 2024.

WOMEX is a key event in the world music calendar, attracting over 2,500 delegates from 90+ countries. This includes concert and festival bookers, labels, publishers, distributors, managers, and media.

This year, Arts Council NI will have a stand in the Horizons section of WOMEX. Horizons is an initiative to collectively promote the music of UK nations and Ireland at WOMEX.

In addition to Arts Council NI, other Horizons partners include Arts Council England, British Underground, Arts Council of Ireland, Culture Ireland, Creative Scotland, Scottish Music Industry Association, Arts Council of Wales, Cerdd Cymru: Music Wales, Wales Arts International, and UK Trade and Investment.

What support is available?

Arts Council NI will offer a maximum of up to four bursary awards for WOMEX 2024 (subject to available budget). The award - £600 per delegate - is towards the costs of registration for the conference, return flights and a contribution towards accommodation and subsistence.

As well as the bursary, selected delegates will get an opportunity to participate in the national stand to promote their work to international arts industry presenters and promoters.

Who can apply?

Eligible applicants include musicians, managers, and agents from Northern Ireland with international touring experience and strong promotional materials. Only one delegate bursary will be awarded per group.
