NI Regional Food Programme opens for applications
Funding to support the local food and drink sector
The 2024/25 Northern Ireland Regional Food Programme, run by the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA), is currently accepting applications.
The programme offers £170,000 in funding aimed at promoting high-quality regional food. Its primary goal is to encourage collaboration among various sectors and representative bodies within the local food industry, by providing financial support to showcase outstanding local produce.
In past years, the programme has contributed to numerous local events and initiatives, focusing on three main areas:
- regional fairs and exhibitions
- seminars and workshops
- information programmes
Supported projects have included the Food Pavilion at Balmoral Show, the Food Tourism Connection Summit, Armagh Food & Cider Weekend, among others.
Who can apply
Not-for-profit groups, regional development agencies, and registered charities are eligible to apply. Collaborative ventures involving two or more eligible organisations working together to achieve the programme's objectives are particularly encouraged.
Applications are open for projects scheduled between 1 May 2024 and 31 March 2025.
The deadline for applications is 4pm, Monday 15 April 2024.
